Arctic Veil

I originally started this piece on a canvas 38x46 almost 10 years ago. Left it on pause for a while. I added more detail with acrylic recently, toke a photo of the actual painting, added even more details digitally, printed it again on a canvas when done and finally added some values with acrylic on that new canvas. First time I ever mix a creative process like that. I'm pretty happy with the outcome so far. Sorry for the crappy photo I wish there was a better way to capture that canvas.
I'm still going to add more detail to the arms and veil in the next two days and finish it once and for all, waaay over due...
As usual it was a great pleasure painting live at Grateful Fridays, love and gratitude to that awesome community.
May the force be with you...always

The Body Tree

11/11/11...(read a la Christopher Walken)...WOW!
After an amazing day and a blissful Hindu Hybrid wedding I went to Grateful Fridays and finish my painting :)
It was awesome to actually paint and dance under the rain, ha...it sounds like a cheese 80's song title...paint and dance under the rain...
I'm a so grateful my computer, projector and Cintiq are dry now and they still work fine. And also very grateful for the chance to share my work with you all. I love everyone at Grateful Fridays.
It feels like 11/11/11 went bye too fast. I've been waiting for that magical date for too long, had too much planned and went bye too quick.
I hope whatever meaning that date has for you somewhat lived up to your expectations.
Yes, you are the future and the future it's now...
Cheers for a better humanity living in harmony with nature and the cosmos!!!

Love and Light.

Happy Halloween

I drew the line art during the week and was going to paint it live at Grateful Friday's at the Vanguard in Hollywood. Unfortunately because of some "uncontrollable circumstances" it got pushed until next Friday. But next weekend I won't be able to paint this cause' it's not Halloween, and I won't be able to wear my Tron Legacy costume neither, bummer. That's why I pulled an all-nighter and worked on it from last night until this morning. If I paint there next weekend it would have to be something else. Anyhow eat lot's of candy and have a wonderful Halloween everyone!!!
Oh and btw happy end of the Mayan calendar too...

The Body Tree

Here is a very rough concept for my next live painting. I'm planing to use a lot of green on this one.
I'm also planning to do a series of 11 paintings, print them on canvas and add highlights and shades with acrylic to them.
Of course when-ever the opening for the gallery happens you'll be cordially invited.
Btw this is all Marcelo's fault.

Grateful October

My tonight's first live painting with a Cintiq at Grateful Fridays @ The Vanguard(en)...
I started around 9 pm and was finished by 1:55 am. Sure, I could keep adding highlights and shadows until Christmas, but I wanted to post my work as it was that night. I'm very grateful for the opportunity to paint live in such a great place full of friends and beautiful Hollywood burner people. Much love to everyone who made that night possible! God bless
Btw click on "Older posts" at the bottom of this page to check out some more of my artwork.
Peace!

Wonder Woman vs. Captain America

And here is my final version...for now. I'm sure every time I look at it I'll find something else to add or fix. But for now I think it's good enough to post.
Think of it as a little tribute to some of my comic book artist heroes.
I seriously doubt there is someone who doesn't know who Wonder Woman or Captain America is.
If you are one of those people perhaps you are the reason of what is wrong with the world today.
So here, educate yourself...Wonder Woman is a DC Comics superheroine created by William Moulton Marston. She first appeared in All Star Comics #8 (December 1941). As the princess of the amazons her powers include superhuman strength, flight, super-speed, super-stamina, and super-agility. She is highly proficient in hand-to-hand combat and in the art of tactical warfare. She also possesses an animal-like cunning and a natural rapport with animals, which has in the past been presented as an actual ability to communicate with the animal kingdom. She uses her Lasso of Truth, which forces those bound by it to tell the truth, a pair of indestructible bracelets and a tiara which serves as a projectile.
Captain America first appeared in Captain America Comics #1 (March 1941), from Marvel Comics' 1940s predecessor, Timely Comics, and was created by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby. Captain America was the alter ego of Steve Rogers, a frail young man who was enhanced to the peak of human perfection by an experimental serum in order to aid the United States war effort. Captain America wears a costume that bears an American flag motif, and is armed with an indestructible shield that can be thrown as a weapon.
And yes, they are both good guys...woman. Why would they fight? I don't know. Since either character didn't have a similar version on different comic book companies it seemed a perfect match. It appears WW was the DC Comics response to Marvel's Cap. America during World War II.
If you ask me, I think Wonder Woman would kick Captain America's ass in a real fight. After all she IS a goddess. Don't get me wrong the Cap. it's one of my favorite comic book characters since I was a kid, but a Demi-goddess vs. a super-human...Demi-goddess would win.
Once again thanx for stopping bye my Blog, cheers.

Burner

Why not ? 11 minutes sketch listening to Tiësto full blast. Yeah yeah, total Adam Hughes cocktail. I figure if I study his work long enough I may get the hang of it some day.

Wonder Woman vs. Captain America...rough...

Actually real work in progress, it's been a while since I post a rough work in progress piece. I'll do the whole geeky super-hero background explanation once I'm done with color and a proper BG. In the mean time take a look at what's to come... ; )

Green Lantern Corps

Rough version of some Green Lantern Corps for Batman the Brave and the Bold.
Green Lantern Corps is the name of an intergalactic police force appearing in comics published by DC Comics. They patrol the farthest reaches of the DC Universe at the behest of the Guardians; a race of immortals residing on the planet Oa. According to DC continuity, the Green Lantern Corps has been in existence for three billion years; surviving multiple conflicts both internal and foreign. Divided as pairs amongst the 3600 “sectors” of the universe, over 7200 members (known commonly as Green Lanterns) are estimated as serving within the Corps. Each Green Lantern is given a power ring, a weapon granting the use of incredible abilities that are directed by the wearer's own willpower.
Here is the beginning of that episode.

Thor

Thor Frozen in Ice, for the Avengers episode "The Casket of Ancient Winters". It seemed appropriate to post some Thor artwork minutes before I go watch the movie tonight, I hope it's a good one. Enjoy!

Enchantress Encased in Ice

Some other art I did for the Avengers The World's Mightiest Heroes. In this episode named "The Casket of Ancient Winters" the Avengers must stop Malekith the Accursed after he obtains the Casket of Ancient Winters (an ancient relic capable of unleashing an everlasting winter on Earth). Introducing characters: Dark Elves (Malekith) As usual always fun drawing beautiful Asgardian women and getting paid for it too, woo-hoo...

Valkyrie

One of my assignments for the Avengers episode "The Fall of Asgard". Lost and separated, the Avengers struggle to survive in the realms of Asgard. Introducing characters: Hela, Ulik, Dwarves (Eitri), Light Elves (Faradei), Valkyrie.
Always fun working for Marvel and get to draw hot Asgardian women.

Strike Force

Some unused development artwork for a top secret television series. Shhh I can't talk about it...
Rough concept in photoshop. That's all you get...for now.

3D

Ladies and gentlemen I'm happy to present my first 3D artwork.
Last night I went to a channeling psychic medium session called "The Circle of Light" performed by my friend Riz Mirza www.rizmirza.com The event was hosted at Leigh McCloskey's place www.leighmccloskey.com an amazing artist and a modern Renaissance Man. You can appreciate his artwork in 3D, yes that's right in 3D. By wearing the paper 3D glasses his artwork turns 3D, it's mind boggling. You can get those glasses at www.3dglassesonline.com
I was inspired by Leigh's amazing art last night and around midnight I played with my Ayahuasca Vision artwork and voilà I got instant 3D. I put on the 3D glasses and realized I achieved my first 3D art piece. I hope you enjoy it!
Thanks Leigh for the great source of inspiration.
Many Blessings!

Cold Love

Happy Valentines...
And to continue with my "Versus" series, I thought what if we get the ice superpower people from Marvel and DC Comics together, would they battle? I don't really know any male superheroes equivalent to Marvel's Iceman, at least to my knowledge. They're all seems to be villains, Mr. Freeze, Captain Cold, etc...But what if there was a crossover where Iceman would face Killer Frost, would they really fight? If you were an ice made man and came across an ice made "hot" chick, I think the last thing you would do it's fight. Catch my drift? I know this goes against my tradition of making DC, Marvel, Dark Horse or Image characters fight against the equivalent of each other's universe, but it seemed appropriate under this occasion.
Oh, yeah...I almost forgot the comic book education for the comic book illiterate:

Iceman (Robert "Bobby" Louis Drake) is a Marvel Comics superhero, a member of the X-Men. Created by writer Stan Lee and artist/co-writer Jack Kirby, he first appeared in X-Men (vol. 1) #1, (September 1963).
A mutant, Iceman has the ability of cryokinesis where he can freeze anything around him and can also turn his body into ice. Although he is an Omega-level mutant, Drake has yet to tap his full mutant potential. He has, however, begun to take more interest over the years in developing his abilities. One of the original X-Men, Iceman has had a frequent presence in X-Men (and Spider-Man)-related comics, video games, animated series, and movies.

Killer Frost is the name of two characters in the DC Comics universe. They are both supervillains that appear mainly as foes of the superhero Firestorm.
Crystal Frost first appeared in Firestorm #3 (June 1978). While Crystal Frost was studying to be a scientist in Hudson University, she fell in love with her teacher, Martin Stein. While working on a project in the Arctic, Frost was upset to learn that Stein didn't reciprocate her feelings. Frost accidentally locked herself in a thermafrost chamber, but somehow survived. She was transformed in a way that she was able to absorb heat from a living being and project cold and ice. Calling herself Killer Frost, she began her murderous crusade against men and clashed with Firestorm on many occasions. Frost eventually died after she absorbed too much energy from Firestorm.
Dr. Louise Lincoln first appeared in Firestorm (vol. 2) # 21 (March 1984). She was a colleague and friend to Crystal Frost. After her friend died, she decided to repeat the experiment as a last respect to her former mentor, and became the new Killer Frost. She became just as ruthless as her predecessor and began her own personal vendetta against Firestorm, whom she blamed for Frost's death. She briefly served as a member of the Suicide Squad and sold her soul to Neron for more power.
Obviously I decided to draw the most recent one, the one alive in the DC Universe.

Ayahuasca Vision

Ayahuasca is used largely as a religious sacrament. Users of ayahuasca in non-traditional contexts often align themselves with the philosophies and cosmologies associated with ayahuasca shamanism, as practiced among indigenous peoples like the Urarina of Peruvian Amazonia. While non-native users know of the spiritual applications of ayahuasca, a less well-known traditional usage focuses on the medicinal properties of ayahuasca. Its purgative properties are important (known as la purga or "the purge"). The intense vomiting and occasional diarrhea it induces can clear the body of worms and other tropical parasites, and harmala alkaloids themselves have been shown to be anthelmintic. Thus, this action is twofold; a direct action on the parasites by these harmala alkaloids (particularly harmine in ayahuasca) works to kill the parasites, and parasites are expelled through the increased intestinal motility that is caused by these alkaloids.
Ayahuasca is any of various psychoactive infusions or decoctions prepared from the Banisteriopsis spp. vine, usually mixed with the leaves of dimethyltryptamine-containing species of shrubs from the Psychotria genus. A notable and puzzling property of ayahuasca is that neither of the ingredients cause any significant psychedelic effects when imbibed alone; they must be consumed together in order to have the desired effect. How indigenous peoples discovered the psychedelic properties of the ayahuasca brew remains unknown.
The legal status in the United States of DMT-containing plants is somewhat questionable. Ayahuasca plants and preparations are legal, as they contain no scheduled chemicals. However, brews made using DMT containing plants are illegal since DMT is a Schedule I drug. A court case allowing União do Vegetal to use the tea for religious purposes in the United States, Gonzales v. O Centro Espirita Beneficente Uniao do Vegetal, was heard by the U.S. Supreme Court on November 1, 2005; the decision, released February 21, 2006, allows the UDV to use the tea in its ceremonies pursuant to the Religious Freedom Restoration Act.
During a ceremony of Ayahuasca I saw this vision while my eyes were closed. I did not purge, since I've never done so well spiritually, emotionally and physically in my whole entire life. Nevertheless I had an amazing and profound spiritual experience that helped me transcend myself for a better person.
Gracias Mama Ayahuasca

Skullped Pile Pan

From the episode, "Come the Conqueror". Kang the Conqueror comes from the 41st century to destroy Captain America, who Kang believes may soon cause his timeline to cease to exist...Once again, I had a blast working on this show.

Electrified Abomination

Some of my work for The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes. This is from episode 13 "Gamma World, Part 2".
With the Avengers turned into Gamma Monsters, Hawkeye must convince Hulk to help fight The Leader.

Nova Star

Nova Star it's an epic Science Fiction film I've been developing over the past decade. It used to be called Terranova, but due to the upcoming new tv series by Steven Spielberg Terra Nova (two separate words) I had to come up with a new name.
Here is the teaser with a mixture of some rough key frames done by myself and a collection of artwork from a very talented group of artist. It features the amazing deep voice of Lenord Robinson as the narrator and the music from the talented Constance Demby.
It's a very complex story full of spiritual insight that walks hand in hand with action and adventure. It's been originally intended for a live action theatrical film, all thou at this point I'm open for it to be made into any media, such as a video game, direct dvd cartoon (2D, 3D or both), tv show (live action or animated), etc...the possibilities are endless. That's without mentioning the franchise of action figures and merchandise.
It's been strategically design to reach every age, gender and race of society with the purpose of expanding the collective consciousness of humanity.
Unlike most of the current Hollywood films, Nova Star exposes the majority of the extraterrestrial beings as very spiritually advanced therefore benevolent. As our ancestors and creators.
The message of Nova Star to the world it's that spirituality it's the key to evolution.

Happy New Year

Well, that was an interesting year. There is so much going on, from increasing worldwide ET activity and disclosure to keep preparing and educating humanity for what's to come to the crazy amounts of chemtrails being sprayed. From 2012 approaching fast to the never ending cover up of advanced technology, free and unlimited energy sources and cures to all diseases by the powers that be, who want to control everyone and everything on Earth. How about them apples? And that's just a scratch to the surface. These are intense times we live in, expecting solar activity that could leave us in the stone age after a massive EMP. Or a polar shift, with colossal earthquakes and tsumanis. How about possible true ET intervention again and what about project blue beam?
And of course the constant spiritual awakening of many, raising the collective vibrational frequency and consciousness of humanity. One thing it's for sure, knowledge it's humanity's saviour, even when the truth it's stranger than fiction will still set you free and it's always out there...
Sounds like we still got a lot to experience and to go through until all of us ( and I mean all of us from the powers that be to the oblivious joe down the street ) get it together and start living in harmony with ourselves, each other and nature.
Regardless, have a Happy New Year everyone, with lots of prosperity, peace, joy, love and light !!!
Namaste

Green Jackolantern

I always enjoy creating my own alien Green Lantern CORPS. Someday, when I can afford the luxury of free time, I'll create my own original GL CORPS gallery. In the meantime it seemed very appropriate to come up with some Halloween looking post. So ladies and gentleman I'll give you the Green Jackolantern.
It also seemed appropriate to draw it in the Gil Kane style, since he was one of my favorite Green Lantern artist when I was a kid. And yes, since I'm no BG artist I got that one from a video game. I re-touched the tree in the foreground, it was too flat.
Btw, why is every green lantern right handed, did I miss something? About freaking time we see a lefty.
For those comic book illiterate folks click on the link below to find out what the Green Lantern CORPS are:

Click here for the Green Lantern Corps link

And of course I gotta say something Halloween related...
Jack-o-lantern smiling bright. Witches flying in the night. Ghosts and goblins, cats and bats. Witches with their funny hats. A full moon can't be beat. As we go out to Trick or Treat...Happy Halloween!!

Critters

The villainous Farmer Brown creates a new breed of gigantic enhanced farm animals to wreak havoc on Gotham City.
From The new Batman Adventures Season two, episode two.
My giant Mantis design and my own color version.
Praying mantises are fascinating creatures.
Ironically I had an amazing experience during one of my meditations, it involves an extraterrestrial Mantis creature.
But I'll save that one for another post...

Bane

Bane's head turn for the New Batman Adventures. Henry Silva reprises his role as Bane for The New Batman Adventures episode "Over the Edge", this time with less of a noticeable accent. After Barbara Gordon is killed in action as Batgirl, Batman's secret identity is exposed and he becomes a fugitive from the law, hunted down by her father, Commissioner Gordon. Unable to bring Batman to justice through traditional means, Gordon grants Bane an early release from prison in exchange for assistance in apprehending the Dark Knight.

Jeans Girl 23

Just having fun drawing a jeans babe. There was a time when all I drew was sexy girls wearing tight jeans. Here is a reminiscence of that era.

Galactus

Do it more like this, do it more like that, taper it more, draw the rib cage line, do it like the board, don't do it like the board make it better, move that line a millimeter to the left, no! move it to the right, draw less think more, never do parallel lines, make negative shapes, that's weak do it again, keep it rough keep it rough, that looks too clean, that's too flat and stiff and some other extra nit-picky trivial little stuff...Those are some of the things I heard during my carer that helped me become a better artist, at that time I didn't take it so well, but now only some of it makes sense. Regardless there are always better ways to communicate with people, it seems not everyone has social skills.
In the other note, a few days ago some artists I stopped bye to say hi at work where all incidentally drawing Galactus. It was a bit inspirational and I've been wanting to draw this piece for a while now. This is the way I think Galactus should look for an animated show, without any of those purple gay tights. It looks like he's saying...Hey, how'd you doing neighbor? The poor Silver Surfer seems to have a hard time with Galactus not using deodorant.
I started at 2:32 am after a great Saturday night and finish at 6:16 am.
All that for spirituality after a Constance Demby concert night.
Oh yeah I almost forgot, for those clueless uneducated comic book people here is the explanation of who Galactus is:

Galactus is a fictional character appearing in comic books and other publications published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer-editor Stan Lee and artist and co-plotter Jack Kirby, the character debuted in Fantastic Four #48 (March 1966), the first of a three-issue story later known as "The Galactus Trilogy."
Galactus was originally an explorer called Galan from a planet called "Taa" in a universe which existed before the Big Bang. When the impending cataclysm gradually killed all life in his universe, including almost all of his own people, he and other survivors sought to escape the decay of their world. They left Taa via a space vessel, but it was eventually engulfed in the cataclysm that ended the old universe and spawned a new one. Galan, however, did not die, but was transformed through a bonding with the Sentience of the Universe, and gestated for billions of years, emerging - partially due to the inactivity of a Watcher - into the new universe as Galactus.

Cosmic consciousness man, cosmic consciousness...

Thanks for stopping by my blog, much love!

Justice League

Right before the JL TV show started, the producers asked me to do this piece for publicity purposes. Little did I know Bruce was going to take a pass at it and make it better. Next thing you know it was everywhere, and I mean everywhere...

All I got, other than a paycheck, was this little business card dispenser with the revised version on it. Pretty cool nevertheless.

Forever People

It's not every day that you get to draw the Forever People in the Jack Kirby and Bruce Timm style and get paid for it.
Good times!!! Good ol' happy days...
For a Justice League Unlimited episode called Twilight (not the new crapy movies).
The League is tricked into defending Apokolips, Darkseid's homeworld against the threat of Brainiac. The team solicits the aid of the New Gods, including Orion, Lightray, and Highfather. The resulting destruction of Brainiac's base is thought to be the end of Darkseid, until the events of the JLU episode "Alive," where he is inadvertently reconstituted by Lex Luthor.

Superbad

The alternative version of Superman from a parallel Universe.
The Justice Lords are anti-heroes who first appeared in the two-part Justice League episode, "A Better World" (airdate November 1, 2003...on my birthday).
The Justice Lords' world diverged from that of the Justice League when their Lex Luthor was elected President of the United States. The Flash was executed personally by Luthor for unknown reasons, and Luthor's policies eventually resulted in the country "being on the brink of a war that could destroy the whole planet". The alternate Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman decided to try and stop the impending war, storming the White House and confronting President Luthor. After Luthor goaded the alternate Superman, that no matter how many times Superman sent him to prison Luthor would find a way back into power all over again in an unending cycle, the enraged Kryptonian targeted Luthor with heat vision and killed him. This decision led to far-reaching consequences, as Superman decided he liked this new brand of "justice". Soon, the other Lords lost faith in humanity's ability to do what was right, as well as their own moral compasses.

Teen Titans

Sometime at the end of the 90's Thomas Zellers approached me about helping him with a presentation for a "Teen Titans" TV Show . For some reason it didn't go as expected and it didn't get picked up. Besides the majority of people at WB laugh at the idea of making a Teen Titans TV Show. Ironically a few years later, somebody else went for it and the show became a hit.
Here is my first pass for that pitch. Keep in mind that was in 1996 and I didn't draw so well.

Man Bat

From a Batman Beyond episode where Terry becomes the Man-Bat Beyond.
I think the episode was called Splicers. First Aired: 9/17/99
Gotham teens are crazy over "splicing", augmenting animal genes onto their own to change their appearance, thanks to the Chimera Institute. But the institute's sinister head, Dr. Cuvier is much more dangerous then he appears, and has the power to bring out the Bat in the Batman.

Code Mc. Callum

Studying my Cassegrain. Quick 1 minute sketch based on the European graphic novel Code Mc. Callum # 4.
Made on the inside of one of The Simpsons scene folders.

Brainiac 5

Some freelance for The Legion of Super Heroes when they first started the show.
Brainiac 5, body turn, rough pencil.
The Legion of Super Heroes was an animated television series produced by Warner Bros. Animation that debuted on September 23, 2006, based on characters appearing in the DC Comics series. The series centers on the young Superman's adventures in the 31st century, fighting alongside a group of futuristic superheroes known as the "Legion of Super-Heroes".

The Plumbers

From my Ben 10 freelance a few years ago.
That's Ben's grandpa in the middle, back in the day with the Plumbers.
The Plumbers is a secret organization that makes use of many high tech gadgets to protect their planet from various alien & paranormal threats. The Earth Plumbers were said to have officially disbanded shortly after Vilgax was defeated by Max Tennyson.

Doctor Strange vs. Doctor Fate

Hiatus yay! Now I can finally draw whatever I feel like doing. I've been meaning to finish this one for a looong time.

Doctor Strange was co-created by writer Stan Lee and artist Steve Ditko and first appeared in Strange Tales #110 (July 1963). Doctor Strange is a master magician, and was the holder of the title of "Sorcerer Supreme" of the Marvel Universe for many years. Eternity, the sentience of the Marvel Universe, has described Strange as "more powerful by far than any of your fellow humanoids".
The character can use magic to achieve a number of effects, such as energy projection; teleportation; telepathy; astral projection the creation of materials, such as food and water or creating planet-wide protective shields. When casting a spell the character is often written to be invoking the name of a mystical entity, such as one of the Vishanti (Hoggoth, Oshtur and Agamotto) or the group the Octessence. These entities usually lend their power to a particular effect, such as the Crimson Bands of Cyttorak, that Strange can use to entrap foes.

I had the strangest synchronicity related to this, I've recently discovered the cosmic music of Constance Demby and I've purchased an album named Sanctum Sanctuorum that I played during the creation of this piece. While reading Doc. Strange's info to post it in this blog I came across to the fact that his residence it's called Sanctum Sanctorum...that's strange, isn't it?

Doctor Fate original version was created by writer Gardner Fox and artist Howard Sherman, and first appeared in More Fun Comics #55 (May 1940). Doctor Fate possesses a variety of mystical powers. In general, even without wearing the Helmet of Nabu, the host can fly, is highly resistant to injury, has minor telekinesis and has greater-than-human strength.
In all of his incarnations, Doctor Fate is an accomplished sorcerer, and at his most potent able to match most other wizards in the DC Universe. In various incarnations, Fate can emit bolts of mystical energy, teleport across the universe, craft solid objects out of energy, and transform objects into other kinds of matter.

If these two mystic heroes would face each other I always pictured that they would fight for a short amount of time and realize they are both good guys concluding their match. Perhaps they may even join forces to defeat who ever turned them against each other.

What do you think it would happen?

The Mighty Thor vs. The Mighty Mightor

And the technicolor version...I'm sure everyone knows who Thor is but here it goes anyway...
The character first appears in Journey into Mystery #83 (August 1962) and was created by editor-plotter Stan Lee, scripter Larry Lieber, and penciller Jack Kirby. Debuting in the Silver Age of comic books, the character is based on the Thor of Norse mythology. Thor's father Odin decides his son needs to be taught humility and consequently places Thor (without memories of godhood) into the body and memories of an existing, partially disabled human medical student, Donald Blake. Like all Asgardians, Thor is not truly immortal but relies upon periodic consumption of the Golden Apples of Idunn to sustain his lifespan, which to date has lasted many millennia. Being the son of Odin and the elder goddess Gaea, the character is physically the strongest of the Norse gods.
The Mighty Mightor is a science fiction animated series created by Alex Toth for Hanna-Barbera Productions, which ran on CBS from 1967 to 1969. One day, while on a hunting trip, a teenage caveman named Tor, along with his winged pet dinosaur Tog, rescue an old man who, as a reward, gives Tor a magical club. When Tor raises his club to the sky, he transforms into the masked and muscular Mightor, a prehistoric superhero very much in the Space Ghost mold who is super-strong and can fly and fire ray blasts from his club.

Starfleet Officer

There is nothing wrong with green skin, green it's good, green it's your friend.
I always liked the Orion girls from the Star Trek universe. They're all seem to be hot.
This particular one appears to have some trouble with tribbles.
My friend Paul Wee gave me a copy of his version and that got me inspired to come up with mine.
Perhaps the link below will refresh your memory:

Whom Gods Destroy

Shane Girl

Once again inspired by my old pal Shane Glines' artwork I was compelled to create a Shane Girl.
It truly is a lot of fun to come up with quick girly sketches in the Shane style.
Hope you all dig it.

Thor vs. Mightor

Alex Toth meets Olivier Coipel was the idea. Still got a lot of work to do on this one.
I grew up watching H&B cartoons, and one of my favorites was The Mighty Mightor.
And I will always love the Jack Kirby's Thor of course.
I hope next time I re-post this it's in technicolor.
May the Gods be with you.

Jonah Hex

On July 10 2009 I got a message from a Jonah Hex fan, requesting a commission piece.
It would have to be in the Batman the Brave and the Bold style.
From that original message:

Hello Tommy,
I am a great admirer of your artwork.
I especially enjoyed your sketch on Jonah Hex. I thing it is one of the best I have seen of Jonah.
I am a Jonah Hex collector and I was wondering if you do any sketches for fans?
I have a limited budget but I would love to get a quick convention style sketch of Jonah Hex for my collection.

Since I'm always working two jobs and busy freelancing I don't do any commission art, but in this case for whatever reason I went for it and mailed the original. Also did it at no charge from the goodness of my heart for a fan. If it wasn't for the fans we (the artists) wouldn't be where we are at.
Curious, I never heard back from Gil...

Lilac

I have been going through a lot of changes in my life lately. Expanding my consciousness and growing spiritually very rapidly are some of the main occurrences. I've learned Reiki, Reconnective Healing, Qui Gong, Kunlun Nei Gun Meditation and Channeling Spirit Guides. I lost all my fear and became love.
I had one of the 12 Crystal Skulls in my hands plus in another occasion I did my first Ayahuasca Ceremony. Lost count of how many UFO's I've seen in different shapes and colors, I even interacted telepathically with some ships. Needless to say I've been tapping into my telepathic abilities and sometimes began to see people's auras effortlessly.
Learning about the alternative "free energy" sources available to the public since at least 50 years ago, awaken and see beyond the lies and manipulation from the powers at be would fall under the consciousness expansion category.
In addition I had many profound, overwhelming and intense spiritual experiences. One of those would be seeing my Gate Keeper and Spirit Guide Lilac during my first Channeling workshop. I'm currently doing my best to get clear messages from the spirit world. Here's a rough drawing from my spiritual journal. This is what a saw before getting some automatic writing messages from her. We all have many spirit guides, life doesn't end when your physical body dies. Communicating with the spirit world as a common thing is part of humanity's destiny.

Around midnight just as the day turned into Halloween, I had the brilliant idea of mixing Gil Elvgren and Shane Glines and came up with this...

Gil Elvgren (March 15, 1914-February 29, 1980), born Gillette Elvgren, was an American painter of pin-up girls,
advertising and illustration. Elvgren lived in various locations, and was active from the 1930s to 1970s.

Shane Glines has done work for several well known series. He worked as a layout and cleanup artist for Spümcø, before graduating to Warner Bros., where he was a character designer for DC Comics based series, such as Batman: The Animated Series and Batman Beyond. He is also known for his character design work on Cartoon Network's Samurai Jack. I haven't seen Shane in a long time, he was a good friend and a great Virtual Fighter II player.

WB Mural

Well, here it is. I finally got a chance to swing by the WB lot and take a shot of my handy work.
It's nice to see your artwork jumbo size.
I heard some rumors WB spend 2 million dollars in the making of the New Mural.
I'm a little depress after hearing that, I wish a had one third of that for all the work I put on it so I can share it with the world.
It doesn't matter, after all money is nothing but paper with pictures and it's meaningless next to Universal Laws of Creation, Peace, Love and Joy.

And here is what the Mural looks like at night. Pretty cool idea to have the villains showing up at night only.
The Villain with a smiling cheek, says he’s strong but instead is weak.
Look at my previous"WB Mural 2009" post for more details about it.
A friend of mine send me this picture taking at dusk, nice quality pic.

Tigra vs. Cheetah

It doesn't get any more cat fight than this, Tigra vs, Cheetah. Inspired by Frank Cho's beautiful art I decided to come up with another cat fight I always wanted to see in the comics world.
Tigra also known as Greer Grant is a super heroine in the Marvel Comics universe. Introduced as the non-superpowered crime fighter The Cat in Claws of the Cat #1 (Nov. 1972), she was co-created by writer-editor Roy Thomas, writer Linda Fite, and penciler Marie Severin. She mutated into the superpowered tiger-woman Tigra in Giant-Size Creatures #1 (July 1974). "The Tigra" it's also the historical defender/champion of the Cat People, a humanoid race created by sorcery during the Dark Ages.
The Cheetah is a super villainess in the DC Comics universe. Commonly regarded as the archenemy of Wonder Woman, the Cheetah first appeared in 1943 in Wonder Woman #6 (volume 1), written by Wonder Woman creator William Moulton Marston. Since then, the character has undergone several updates as comic book continuities have evolved and shifted. Indeed, there have been four different Cheetahs since the character's premiere, including Priscilla Rich (the Golden Age Cheetah), Deborah Domaine (the Silver Age Cheetah), Barbara Ann Minerva (the modern age and current Cheetah), and Sebastian Ballesteros (a male usurper who briefly assumed the role in 2001). I choose the third Cheetah, the british anthropologist Dr. Barbara Ann Minerva.
Changing the subject, I'll be working two jobs starting next week (Ben 10 and The Simpsons) That means I won't be able to come up with my Versus Series for a while, sorry folks. I'll definitely do some more when ever I can. Coming up with the "Versus" series it's a lot of fun and extremely addictive. I hope you liked my last post for the next few weeks.

Quicksilver vs. Zoom

And why the hell not. After all you only have to change red to yellow and yellow to red and bingo, from the Flash into Zoom in a heart beat.
Zoom (real name Hunter Zolomon) is a comic book supervillain from the DC Comics universe. He is primarily associated with the superhero Flash and is the third of the Reverse-Flashes. As Hunter Zolomon, he first appeared in The Flash: Secret Files & Origins #3 and was created by Geoff Johns and Scott Kolins.
Hunter was severely injured in an attack by Gorilla Grodd in Iron Heights, when Grodd staged a mass prison break, and was left paralyzed from the waist down. He asked Wally West to use the time-travelling cosmic treadmill in the Flash Museum to prevent this from occurring, but West refused, saying that he could not risk damaging the timestream. Zolomon, feeling that Wally should be prepared to disregard such fears for the sake of their friendship, then broke into the museum and attempted to use the treadmill himself. The resulting explosion destroyed the museum and shifted Hunter's connection to time - described by Jay Garrick as him being 'derailed' from the timeline by the explosion - thus allows Zolomon to alter the speed at which he could move in time, giving him the effect of super-speed.

The Flash vs. Quicksilver

I always wanted to see a comic book about this one. When I was doing research for the characters I already had something specific in mind. Then I came across one Flash piece by Karl Kerschl that already was what I wanted to do, so I based it on his work.
It came up OK, it's not exactly what I wanted, but I'm happy with it.
Once nicknamed the Scarlet Speedster, all incarnations of the Flash possess "super-speed", which includes the ability to run and move extremely fast, use superhuman reflexes and seemingly violate certain laws of physics. Thus far, four different characters, each of whom somehow gained the power of "super-speed", have assumed the identity of the Flash: Jay Garrick (1940-), Barry Allen (1956-1985, 2008-), Wally West (1986-2006, 2007-), and Bart Allen (2006-2007).
Quicksilver or Pietro Django Maximoff is a fictional character that appears in the comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character first appears in X-Men #4 (Mar. 1964) and was created by writer Stan Lee and artist/co-writer Jack Kirby.
In 1964, Quicksilver first appears with his sister, the Scarlet Witch, as a part of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants in Uncanny X-Men #4 (Mar. 1964). Pietro and his sister reform and join the Avengers in Avengers #16 (May 1965).
